The PDF file the is included with the bagpipe plugins ( Bagpipes Suite) describes what we tried. When I was working with pipers on this, we never found a bagpipe library that worked for everybody (on Windows and Mac), and we pretty much gave up on trying to get a good set of sounds. Posted by Jonathan Loving - 18 Aug 07:19AM I assume I need to move some file from the player into C:\Program Files (x86)\Sibelius Software\VSTPlugins.Ĭan anyone point me to step by step instructions of getting Kontakt Player 4 installed so I can use it with Sib? Once I get there I can buy the sound set, and the instructions for that seem clear enough.

I ran the installers for the player and for the libraries, but I have not been able to find any instructions for how to get Sibelius to find the library. I figure that as long as I have downloaded this stuff, I might as well try hooking it up. > note that the Factory Selection contains only Uilleann Pipes,Īfter I downloaded everything, I did discover that the Highland Pipes (which is what I need) are not present. How naive is that? Would anyone know right off if there is a sound set for this, or should I figure out how to use a manual sound set with it? So since it is available for Win/Mac, is there anything I need to be concerned about other than the size of the files? It seems to me (naively) that if I can get it hooked up to Sibelius it should just work. I note that Kontakt 4 Player is free and the Kontakt Factory Selection are also free, which is an excellent price. Well, it turns out that we need the sounds to run on a Mac, and Studio Pipes is Windows only.

If I will still need to have a separate drone instrument, it is probably not worth messing with, but I would consider the messing if the drone were available.Īny chance anyone out there has used one of these or any other bagpipe sound set? Has anyone used anything? I have seen mention of the Universal Piper and the Fred Morrison Sound, but it is not clear to me if this is actually what I am looking for or if it would be a reasonable amount of effort to hook something like this up to Sibelius. I have no idea if the latter is even possible, but it would be lovely to not have to add the drone instrument. I can use the General MIDI bagpipe sounds, and add a separate instrument playing drones but a) long tied notes stop playing after some undetermined but not all that long time and b)it would be nice to be able to find a virtual instrument that contained its own drone under the notes. I am working on some Scottish bagpipe music. 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 17 Aug 05:05PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Sam Marks, 17 Aug 08:41AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 21 Aug 06:45AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Gregg, 21 Aug 05:13AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Jonathan Loving, 18 Aug 05:23PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 18 Aug 05:03PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Jonathan Loving, 18 Aug 03:57PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Jonathan Loving, 18 Aug 07:19AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 18 Aug 06:24AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Jonathan Loving, 18 Aug 01:52AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 18 Aug 01:45AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 05 Aug 09:27PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - David Hitchin, 05 Aug 08:31AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Peter Roos, 05 Aug 04:49AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Laurence Payne, 04 Aug 06:32PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Laurence Payne, 04 Aug 06:31PM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Daniel Spreadbury, 04 Aug 10:30AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - David Hitchin, 04 Aug 09:51AM 6.2: virtual bagpipe? - Bob Zawalich, 04 Aug 05:52AM
